Company / Commercial solicitor. 2 years pqe +. Hammersmith, London.
The Role: To work initially as Assistant Solicitor supporting the founder, Marie Huntley, but from the outset managing small matters with minimal supervision and then developing into running your own caseload. We want to encourage the successful candidate to choose an area of work in which they would like to develop special expertise and we will support that development through training and marketing.
Clients: Businesses and their owners who expect great things of us and who include new entrants, established firms and ground breakers in their own, often regulated fields, such as: Fintech firms/Independent Financial Advisers/ Insurance Brokers/ Compliance advisors/ Currency exchanges/ Education and training providers / NHS and Private sector Healthcare providers / PR and Design agencies/ Marketing companies / Software designers and consultants. Also, perhaps a little unusually, some of our clients are solicitors’ firms.
The firm’s ethos/ style: timely delivery of high quality, useful advice and smart business-ready documentation. From the feedback it is clear that we constantly achieve high levels of client retention because of the clients' satisfaction with the quality advice and their trust in our responsive, approachable and professional service offering.
The fun; working closely with a range of talented, capable business folk, on their often cutting edge and unusual business projects across a range of sectors.
Corporate: range of corporate advice and transactional work and shareholder/ director agreements. Advice to director/ shareholders on exit from companies and investments.
Commercial: range of commercial agreements and advice including supply/ distribution/ introducer/ software/ data licensing and ecommerce and agreements surrounding “virtual” services.
Financial Services/ Regulatory: advice and connected commercial support, including for fintech and other professional advisers supplying to regulated sectors.
The Ideal Candidate: Has the following attributes/ skills:
· 2 years or more pqe with good quality experience (in -house or private practice)
· commercially aware
· strong drafting skills
· effective and proactive communication skills
· good interpersonal skills
· able to manage matters/ work as part of a team
· capable user of software products (we use software and cloud products)
